Full disclaimer

How can body fat percentage be estimated?

The calculator first works out BMI from weight and height, then estimates body fat with 1.20 × BMI + 0.23 × age minus 10.8 × sex coefficient minus 5.4, where the coefficient is 1 for men and 0 for women. The 1991 model has a large individual error, with a study standard error of 4.1 percentage points, and it is not a measurement. It works for adults aged 18 to 83 with a BMI from 13.9 to 40.9. Ask a doctor for a real measurement and advice.
