Decimal units grow in steps of 1,000, so 1 GB is exactly 1,000 MB, while binary units grow by 1,024, so 1 GiB is 1,024 MiB. That is why a 1 TB drive shows about 931.32 GiB in an operating system, and 1 GB is about 953.67 MiB. For KB to MB divide by 1,000, and for internet speeds remember that 1 byte has 8 bits.
